Ingredients used in TOMATO PAPPU
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Chillipowder - to taste.
• Turmeric - half tablespoon.
• Tamarind - half piece.
• Green chillies - 2 numbers.
• Onion - half number.
• Toor dal - 1 cup.
• Raw (green )tomatoes - 2 numbers.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic clove - 1 tea spoon.
• Asafotida - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Boil toor dal,tomatoe pieces,onion peices,green chillis,tamarind,turmeric,chilli powder and cumin seeds in a pressure cooker untill the mixture becomes soft and mushy.
  • Add salt to the mixture and mash it.Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds,urad dal, chana dal, asfoitida,crushed garlic and curry leaves and let fry for a minute.
  • Now add the dal mixture and cook it for two minutes.Serve with hot rice or chapathi.
