Ingredients used in Meen Kozhambu
• Jeera pdr - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Corriander pdr - double the chilli pdr .
• Chilli pdr - acc to spice level .
• Tamarind - acc to extract needed .
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Garlic - 5 clove.
• Jeera - 1 teaspoons.
• Pepper - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Tomato - 1 big.
• Onion - 1 1/2 big.
• Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste .
• Mustard - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Fenugreek - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Fish - .
Method:
1) Make tamarind extract according to the amount of sauce you need. 2)Make a paste of 1/2 of a big onion, tomato, pepper, jeera ,garlic and curry leaves add it to the tamarind extract. To this also add chilli powder,corriander powder and jeera powder and salt. 3)Heat 4tbsps of oil( tastes best with sesame oil ) add mustard seeds and as it starts spluttering add fenugreek seeds and then add finely chopped onions(1 big onion). To this also add curry leaves and turmeic powder and keep frying till the onions become golden brown. 4) Then add the tamarind extract kept ready. 5) When it starts boiling add a small piece of crushed ginger. 6) Simmer it and add fish pieces and switch it off once the fish is cooked
