Ingredients used in Masala Crab Curry
• Crabs - 500 grams.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Pepper corns - 1 tea spoon.
• Fennel seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Fresh coconut ( grated ) - 1 cup.
• Garlic ( chopped ) - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger ( chopped ) - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilies - 3 number.
• Onions ( chopped ) - 2 number.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes ( chopped ) - 1 number.
• Cinnamon stick - 1 number.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Cardamom - 3 number.
• Cloves - 4 number.
• Dry red chilies - 3 number.
• Curry leaves - 3 sticks.
• Chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Garam masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
Method:
  • Clean crabs and keep aside.
  • Dry roast coriander seeds, pepper corns, fennel seeds, grated coconut powder, and grind to a fine powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies, chopped onion and cook it well.
  • Now add turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes, and grind to fine paste.
  • Then add cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, dry red chilies, curry leaves, chili powder, garam masala powder, above prepared paste and masala powder to the same pan and cook well.
  • Add water, salt and cook with closed lid.
  • At last add crabs and cook well with closed lid and serve it with hot rice.
