Ingredients used in Tindoora Curd Masala Curry
• Tindora / dondakai (cut into roundels) - 1 cup.
• Almonds (chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Coconut pieces - 1/4 cup.
• Green chilies - 3 number.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Chopped onion - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped tomatoes - 1 number.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Curd - 1+1/2 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Grind almonds,mustard seeds, fresh coconut pieces, green chillies, cuminseeds to a fine paste by adding required amount of water.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when they splutter, add small roundels of tindora, salt, saute till tindora roundels turn tender and transfer to a plate.
  • Now, in the same pan, add chopped onions, curry leaves, salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and saute for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, red chilli powder, prepared masala paste and cook till the gravy reaches to the desired consistency.
  • Now add curd, fried tindora pieces and cook it, sprinkle coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
