Ingredients used in Spiced Fruit chutney
• Pear - 2 numbers.
• Apple - 1 number.
• Cranberries - half cup.
• Dried currants - half cup.
• Orange peel - 2 tablespoons.
• Vinegar - 2 cups.
• Cinnamon powder - half tea spoon.
• Garlic - 1 clove.
• Dried red pepper flakes - half tea spoon.
• Golden brown sugar - 3 cups.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Ginger - 1 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - half cup.
Method:
In a pan, add vinegar, onion, water, ginger, orange peel, salt, Cinnamon powder, garlic, chili flakes and boil on medium flame, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add sugar, pears, apple, cranberries and currants and stir until sugar dissolves. Cook until fruits are soft and liquid thickens slightly, stirring occasionally, about 1 hour. Cool to room temperature (chutney will thicken more as it cools). Cover and refrigerate. Bring to room temperature before serving.
