Ingredients used in RAIL PALAHARAM
• Water - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Rice flour - 1 cup.
• Fresh coconut(pieces) - 1/4 cup.
• Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Dry red chillies - 1 number.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
Method:
  • Boil water in a pan with pinch of salt and add rice flour and mix it, later cook it.
  • Make a dough of it and take small dumpling and give round shape with hands.
  • Place in idli steamer for 15 minutes.
  • Take a mixie jar and add fresh coconut, green chillies, ginger and blend it.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, dry red chillies, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, coconut mixture paste, salt and saute it.
  • Add steamed balls and saute it and transfer into serving plate.

Now rail palaharam is ready to serve.

I am invited to Ganesha's birthday! Love idli and those little pearls are adorable. You mde a very nice flour Ganesha but I wouldn't put that in the water either. Not good for fish and other wildlife.?
