BOTTLE GOURD AND PUMPKIN BAJJI

Ingredients used in BOTTLE GOURD AND PUMPKIN BAJJI
• Chana dal - 1/2 cup.
• Pumpkin pieces - 1/2 cup.
• Bottle gourd pieces - 1/2 cup.
• Chickpea flour - 1 cup.
• Green chilies - 3 numbers.
• Dry red chilies - 4 numbers.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Ajwain seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Oil - to fry.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • In the mixie blender, add in the chana dal (soaked in water for 4 hours), dry red chilies, green chilies, little salt and grind into fine paste.
  • Transfer the chana dal paste in a bowl. Add pumpkin and bottle gourd pieces, coriander leaves, ajwain seeds and mix well.
  • Add little chickpea flour, pinch of salt, little water and mix it again.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, and drop small dumplings of the bajji batter and fry in medium hot oil until they are crisp and slightly golden in color.

Serve this Pumpkin and Bottle Gourd Bajji with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
