Meeti Daal Onion Sweetened Daal

Ingredients used in Meeti Daal Onion Sweetened Daal
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Green chilly - 4 numbers.
• Red chilly powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Garlic - 6 cloves.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Whole red chilly - 4 numbers.
• Masoor daal - 1 cup.
• Ghee - 4 tablespoons.
• Onion slices - 3 numbers.
Method:
  • Heat ghee in a pan add whole red chilly, cumin seeds, garlic, onions (thin slices), salt, add ginger garlic paste cook it for raw flavor is gone.
  • Add green chilly, red chilly powder and add daal (masoor dal boiled by adding oil and turmeric into the pressure cooker)
  • Add water bring it to a boil and cook for 10 minutes switch off the flame.

Hey Sanjay, I normally make this same dish using masoor daal. It's really a sweet flavored dish and nice aroma. I love to eat it with bread and really love the taste of masoor daal. Thank you for remembering this dish again, chef Sanjay Thumma.
