Ingredients used in Machha(Fish) Ghanta
• Fish (head portion) - 500 grams.
• Potatoes - 5 numbers.
• Rice - 1/2 cup.
• Onion - 1 numbers.
• Garlic buds - 6 numbers.
• Ginger - 2 piece.
• Red chillies - 6 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Argemone - 1 teaspoons.
• Bay leaves - 2 numbers.
• Cinnamon - 2 piece.
• Cardamoms - 2 numbers.
• Oil - 1/2 cup.
• Salt & turmeric powder - to taste.
Method:
  • Grind the onion, garlic and ginger into a fine paste.
  • Grind cumin seeds, argemone, chillies and bay leave separately.
  • Fry the fishes in oil and keep it aside.
  • Cut the potatoes into small pieces after taking out the skin.
  • Fry the rice in oil. When it turns brown add potatoes and fry.
  • After 5 minutes add onion, ginger and garlic paste to it.
  • After frying a little add the cumin seed, argemone and chilli paste to it.
  • When nice flavour comes out from the spices pour 3 cups water. Let it boil for sometime.
  • Add the fish to it and cover with lid. When it is cooked add the cardamom and cinnamon powder and remove from flame.

dear Sanjay me and my husband are great fan of your cooking (basically the south Indian style). My husband is big foodie and believes "taste cannot be purchased by money and you can get the taste anywhere..rather than only in big restaurant "!! well
