Ingredients used in DAL PAKWAN
• Chana dal - 1 cup.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cloves - 3 no.
• Ginger(finely chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic(finely chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• All purpose flour (maida) - 1 cup.
• Pepper crush - 1 tablespoon.
• Semolina - 1 tablespoon.
• Sesame seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Amchur powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Chopped green chilies - 3 no.
• Water - as.
Method:
  • Boil the chana dal by adding water, turmeric powder, salt and oil and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, cloves, chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies, turmeric powder, curry leaves and saute it.
  • Then add boiled dal and check for seasoning, add salt, amchur powder to cook it and then keep it aside.
  • Take a bowl, add all purpose flour, pepper crush, semolina, sesame seeds, salt with 2 tablespoons of oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Then add water and make a bit stiff dough then let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Now make large dumplings and press like small thick poori’s.
  • With the fork, pork the poori’s. Then heat oil in a pan and deep fry the poori’s on slow flame.

Now Dal pakwan is ready to serve with dal.
