Ingredients used in Besan Ladoo
• Gram flour (besan) - 350 grams.
• Clarified butter (ghee) - 200 grams.
• Cardamom powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Castor sugar - 175 grams.
• Dry fruit - 2 tablespoons.
• Saffron strands - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Edible silver leaf (vark) - as required.
Method:
Heat clarified butter in a heavy-based pot. Add gram flour and cook on low heat, stirring continuously. Remove the pan from the heat when the clarified butter starts to separate and the gram flour changes color. Let it cool. Mix in the sugar, spice, dry fruit and saffron. Prepare even sized round balls and serve decorated with extra dried fruit and silver leaf.
